My Grandfather - Authentic Mainer

My grandfather's family were among the first European settlers to settle the coast of Maine. They had a charter from France to what is now Franklin and Sullivan, Maine. Anyway, he carved gravestones by hand out of the granite he quarried from his own Quarry. I think I look like him a bit. Anyway, I have deep roots in Maine which is where I am headed for the summer.

Those times were hard. I think he was born in 1880. I can't wait to get the photo of Gracie. How cool. Thank you so much. I adore her. :)))

People thought he had the gift of prophecy he had such keen insight. Very intelligent, very warm, loved children - had twelve of them and thought they were blessings.
