Less than one million people with about an equal number of summer residents. About six million tourists a year (as I recall). Tourism is the number one industry. It is the largest of the New England states but these are among the smaller states vs. say Texas or California. I love it here. Where are her parents? Which city?
My grandmother moved to Ellsworth when she was a child, married at sixteen and her husband built her a house in Hancock. Ellsworth is next to Trenton. I have family all over that area. Some of my cousins live in Bar Harbor too.

My mom is from Hancock. My granmother was from Surry/Blue Hill. That is in the same neck of the woods.
